Tips for Success
Cleansing Foods: Whilst on the cleansing programme, we recommend that you follow a healthy balanced diet including plenty of fibre and fluids. Ideally, keep mucus-forming foods such as dairy and sugars to a minimum. If you'd like help identifying which foods might be causing you distress, keep a Diet Log for our Nutritionists to review.
Think about what foods you can ADD rather than worrying about being overly restrictive, eg add a daily spoonful of flaxseed to porridge, bio live yoghurt or soup, or add hot water and lemon to your morning routine.

Colonic FAQs

Colon Hydrotherapy literally washes out old toxic debris lodged in the colon. Each treatment is estimated to be the equivalent of between 10 to 20 bowel movements.
• Initial Course: We recommend a course of 3 colonic treatments within a 4-6 week period to enhance effectiveness.
• Maintenance: Sessions every 4-6 weeks until we meet your health goals.
Many get great relief from one colonic session, where as others may be more congested or have more complex symptoms. We continue tracking your progress with each visit. As your symptoms improve, you might wish to book a Seasonal or Annual cleanse to maintain good health and vitality.

Monitor your bowel habits as it can take 2-4 days to return to normality. If you are particularly sluggish, this is a strong indication that Transit Time is slow, i.e. the time that elapses from swallowing of food to its elimination.
Being constipated is uncomfortable, makes you feel bloated and can cause headaches. The most effective way to manage constipation is to increase your fibre intake and drink plenty of liquids. A suitable Colon Cleanser can help speed up the transit time to a healthy rate.
We advise using this time to give your digestion and yourself a break. Eat foods that are easy to break down such as soup, juice, fruit, stir fry, sweet potato, salmon... maybe give the steak and wine a miss.
Take time to pamper yourself and relax. It's okay to have a nap or a magnesium salt bath, or to skip an intense work out. Although we really advocate exercise for both mental and physical wellbeing, it's important to note that vigorous exercise post-treatment might enter you into an aggressive detox.
Many experience a boost in energy levels but note you may experience “detox” symptoms. If you feel headachy or tired post-treatment, your body is still eliminating toxins. A "healing crisis" may occur if toxins can't exit your body. Therefore hydrate well, massage your tummy and make time to go to the toilet.

Chew your food - Digestion begins in the mouth; chewing your food well will take the added pressure off the intestines, preventing large food particles and air from going down. Eating too fast and lying down immediately after eating are common culprits for digestive upset.
Eat little and often - You may find it difficult to digest large meals. Eating every 3-4 hours helps to balance blood sugar levels and reduces the tendency to over-eat.
Get organised - Stock your cupboard, your work desk, your carry bag... with plenty of ‘good foods’ only. Our Diet Guides offer balanced nourishment and meal ideas to help get into a better routine.
Manage withdrawal symptoms - Give up caffeine and sugar beverages gradually or you may experience withdrawal symptoms i.e. headaches, irritability, fatigue. Caffeine-free Rooibos and herbal teas can help.
